How to Make Money on Threads (2026 Guide)
Threads doesn't pay creators directly in 2026. How people earn from it anyway: profile links, selling your own products, affiliate links and brand deals.

In short
- As of October 2026 Threads has no revenue share, tips or paid subscriptions for creators.
- The invite-only bonus programme from 2024 has ended.
- Threads allows up to 5 links on your profile, with click insights.
- Writers earn by sending readers to their own products, newsletters and offers.
Threads is good at one thing for creators: text that gets shared. It doesn't pay you for views, so the money comes from where you send people. Here's what Threads offers in 2026 and the ways creators earn from it.
What Threads pays you directly
Nothing, for most creators. Meta tested an invite-only bonus programme for US creators in 2024 (TechCrunch, April 2024), and reports in 2026 say it has ended with no replacement. Threads ads, which started rolling out worldwide in January 2026, pay Meta, not creators (Make Influence, checked October 2026).
1. Use your profile links
Since May 2025 Threads lets you add up to five links to your profile, and Insights show how many people tapped them (TechCrunch, May 2025). Put your store first, then your newsletter or other channels.
2. Sell what your posts teach
Threads rewards useful, opinionated text. If your posts teach something (writing, money, careers, fitness, design), the natural product is the long version: a guide, a template, a swipe file or a short course. Post the idea for free; sell the system.
- A post with 5 tips links to a PDF with 50.
- A thread about your process links to the template you use.
- A question you answer often links to a 1:1 call.
3. Grow an email list
Algorithms change; an email list doesn't. Offer a free download in exchange for an email address and link it from your profile. When you launch something, you can reach those readers directly.
4. Affiliate links
Recommend tools and books you actually use and earn a commission when readers buy. Disclose it clearly in the post; advertising rules in most countries require it.
5. Brand deals
Threads has had a paid partnership label since October 2023 (Make Influence, checked October 2026). Brands that already work with you on Instagram may add a Threads post to a deal. Use the label whenever you're paid.
| You post about | Free offer | Paid product |
|---|---|---|
| Writing better | 10 hook templates | A $19 writing swipe file |
| Personal finance | Budget spreadsheet | A $29 money planner |
| Career advice | CV checklist | A $49 CV review call |
