TikTok Shop has made it easy to sell physical products straight from videos and lives. If you make ebooks, templates, presets or courses, the natural question is whether you can do the same. The short answer for most creators is no, not through TikTok Shop itself. But you can still sell digital products to your TikTok audience. Here's what the rules say and what works instead.
What TikTok Shop's policy says
TikTok Shop's US Prohibited Products Policy says: "Virtual or digital products are prohibited unless approved for sale under the Virtual Goods category." It also says physical products with digital content, such as DVDs, are allowed.
The Virtual Goods Requirements page (dated September 2026) says the category is for invited sellers only. The products it names as allowed include software and applications delivered by licence key, activation code or secure download, and online courses delivered digitally. It doesn't mention ebooks, templates or presets, and it prohibits auto-renewing subscriptions and stored-value items such as course credits and gift certificates.

How creators sell digital products from TikTok instead
- Add a website link to your TikTok profile. TikTok shows the option to personal accounts with more than 1,000 followers, or to verified business accounts.
- Link to a store page where your product is the first thing people see, with checkout that works on a phone.
- Make videos that show the result of your product, and say what to do next: "the template is linked in my bio".
- Pin a comment on your best videos that points to your bio link.
- Offer a free version (a free preset, a sample chapter) so people who aren't ready to buy still give you their email.
- Post the same content on Instagram, where a comment-to-DM tool can send the link straight to anyone who comments a keyword.
Can I sell physical versions instead?
Yes, if you want TikTok Shop's checkout, you can sell a physical version under the normal rules: a printed planner, a printed recipe book or a physical card deck. That brings printing, stock and shipping back into the picture, so many creators keep the digital version on their own store and only sell physical items on TikTok Shop.
