Connect Your Store to Claude or ChatGPT
Make a key in Settings, add your store to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor, and ask about sales or draft products and discount codes.

You can connect your Insidemetics store to an AI assistant you already use. Then you can ask it about your store in plain words, or have it draft a product or a discount code for you to check.
Things you can ask
- "How were my sales this week compared to last week?"
- "Which product sells best? Who bought it most recently?"
- "Turn this outline into a draft $19 ebook with a short description."
- "Make a 20% code called DIWALI20 that ends on 15 November."
Step 1: make a key
- Open Settings from the Account menu and find AI assistants.
- Give the key a name, like "Claude on my laptop".
- Choose Read only (ask questions) or Read and draft (also save draft products and make discount codes).
- Click Make a key.
- Copy the Connector URL and API key now. For your safety they're shown only once.
Step 2: add it to your assistant
- Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the connector URL.
- ChatGPT: turn on developer mode in Settings, add a connector, paste the connector URL and choose no authentication.
- Claude Code: copy the claude mcp add command shown under your new key and run it.
- Cursor, VS Code and others: add an HTTP MCP server at insidemetics.com/api/mcp with the header Authorization: Bearer and your API key.
Custom connectors are available on some Claude and ChatGPT plans and not others. Check your assistant's own help pages if you don't see the option.

Drafts appear in your dashboard for you to check, add files to and publish. Discount codes work at checkout as soon as they're made, so read what your assistant made. A key can make up to 60 changes an hour.
Frequently asked questions
Is the connector included in my plan?
Yes, on every plan. Making discount codes through it needs a plan that includes discount codes.
Can the AI publish products or change my prices?
No. It can only save drafts and edit drafts. Publishing and changing live products stay in your dashboard.
How many keys can I make?
Up to 10. Each one shows when it was made and last used, so you can remove old ones.
I lost my connector URL. Can I see it again?
No, it's only shown once. Remove the old key and make a new one.
Can the AI see my buyers' details?
Yes, it can read your orders, including buyer names and emails, as you can in your dashboard. Use a Read only key if you just want answers.
Which assistants work?
Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and any tool that supports MCP connectors over HTTP.
